What you see here is my own attempt of a tutorial that teaches how to achieve the effect of water on a surface ...even including the broken reflections!
This tutorial video and more I've found at "Pixel Perfect with Bert Monroy". If you'd like to go straight to the water drops you can click here.
He shows techniques in both Photoshop and Illustrator.
I find the format of the show really appealing and the host has a friendly teacher charm about him.
Watching these tutorials encourages you to play with what you've learned, rather than feeling like a one-way-only type of edit with only a specific use and it is quite inspiring I think. You should check them out.
I hope you'll enjoy and find something that is helpful to you.

Pixel Perfect
Trying Blogger video
Well lets give the Blogger player a test run then.
Erm... please don't mind the quality and content. *cough*
This project was planned to be worked out more, having a friend of mine in the other place and such but as usual what I want to do and what I can manage to get done are different matters in my condition. So this is the little test I got done with my first ever steps in video editing.
Can you tell I am a silly girl sometimes.
Warning: Might be too loud. Please adjust your volume first.
No really, it is frikkin LOUD! Sorry I can't fix it now either thanks to losing the file when my harddrive died some time ago.
I wish I could afford buying the full version of GameCam. It runs really great for me with its automatic performance adjustment causing no lag in either the program or the video. The test version comes without sound recording and of course that banner in the corner.
Edit: Okay so the visual quality is less than great on Blogger video, at least in the conversion from the codec of my file. No way to read that little sign in the beginning for example.
For the curious: It says "Beware of teh silly tgirl Rawr! Mew!"

Eep! (...positive eep that is)
o.o *just looked at the uploaders for media here the first time*
Just wow this is so nice. Not only can I host everything I need instead of having to bother with bandwidth of some image hoster but
...8MB per pic and 100MB per video...
This is so very neat!
*hugs her new Blogger*
Sorry if this looks like advertising but I am seriously amazed about the generosity of a free blog service like this. 3MB more than I can put on my non-pro Flickr and 100MB is like Youtube but it's all right here in the blog tools. I really really like that. I'll look forward to posting content with media.
Oh and on a sidenote, I think I'll settle with this url now:
tehsillycat.blogspot.com
Yes teh, no typo. That shall be as homage to lolcats and "Silly cat" was a remark on me from someone.
Long live teh silly cat!
...I might vary the title when the mood strikes though.
Edit: Ah while uploading a picture for the later post I spotted the 1GB maximum storage notice. So still better watch the sizes.

Dear diary...
No, not even such I had in the past so writing down my thoughts is pretty new in this format. I mean the talking "to self/piece of paper" way of writing instead of communicative interaction. I am not sure how long it'll take until I catch on.
Ugh I am glad I didn't make this thing "official" yet hehe. Lets hope I'll get some interesting ideas or anyone would enjoy to read the mind junk I'll probably produce. At least I had positive feedback for the layout so far.
Being a perfectionist can be so counterproductive too. I can't just go and throw out thoughts without working them out enough and considering what I want to achieve by doing it. I also have trouble expressing myself clearly on first attempt, just sorting my thoughts or simply phrasing things well due to my mental and cognitive issues so there is another reason why writing out of the box isn't really my thing. (Some friends will know how that goes with me babbling on and on about a topic until I come to a well put conclusion because I am gathering my thoughts still on the way.)
When I did commentary on others for example I took hours to write sometimes. Yes ..hours. I work things over again and again when given time until I think I express myself well enough and the readability is flowing well. So you see 'just' typing will be pretty tough.
I don't think reading other blogs more would help anything because I have to project my own mind into this thing after all. There is hardly anything to look up at other people's work.
I think I'll might make "mind junk" one of the labels for anything I 'try' to just throw out there...

Title and url may vary
At least for now I am not setting them in stone yet so until I am all set the blog might not load when I found my "ideal" set and changed the url.
In the case you are someone who came across the blog already and want to keep looking out for it (which is unlikely) I will be putting the final url into a profile or two of mine where it can be found back again then.
I am still tinkering with everything before I start on more content. I've just made me a header and I am pleased with it. The text is not perfect on such an active background but it's fairly readable still right now. I'll keep tweaking the template and setup until I am satisfied and can move on with whatever I'll start my actual posting.
Thanks for reading
"To blog or not to blog.."
"That is the question"
Greetings fellow internet user who came across my blog. Please enjoy your stay if you will.
So, yes I am actually not even sure yet if I really want to blog publicly. I can't really make up my mind about it so the best way to find out will be to just try.
I haven't really blogged much at all yet with few exceptions and I am not sure how much content I could put out that I'd intend for a wider audience. I am just rather someone for personal talks. See I am more of a one-to-one girl babbling tons with a friend but usually keep my mouth shut in public.
But then there are ideas of how I could be posting advices and tutorials to help people which would be attractive to do for example.
...I am just not very settled about what a blog of mine would be made of so I will just go give it a try and if I see it is good I'll just keep doing it. If I manage to give someone an interesting read to spend time on, to be helpful or just to make someone smile then it would be worth it.
So this is how it begins.. the chaos that is my future blog
Uh oh...
